The Breakin' It Down, a fiscal sponsorship project of Mujeres Latinas En Accion, brings together seasoned and emerging professionals, thinkers, and experts in the nonprofit, fundraising, and philanthropy field as well as students and community for learning, discourse, and expression about social impact.
Their volunteer-organized programs provide a forum for participants to engage in dialogue about key challenges in the field and to explore best practices and different revenue-generating and sustainability strategies, as well as how to meaningfully respond to the state of our society and shape it moving forward, inspired by a racial equity framework and the practice of healing.
It is our hope that our programs will ignite human potential and galvanize philanthropic and community leaders, educators, policymakers, and professionals to keep taking the steps to advance racial equity in the field. In particular, we hope to embolden diverse community members and students to pursue careers and leadership in the field of nonprofit, philanthropy, and fundraising.
The Breakin' It Down Planning Committee comprises diverse nonprofit, philanthropic, nonprofit, and fundraising professionals and xommunity leaders who serve diverse communities in the Chicago area.
