Register for the 2022 Breakin' IT DOWN CONFERENCE

Who Should Attend?

The Breakin' It Down conference is designed for seasoned and emerging nonprofit, philanthropy, and fundraising professionals serving under-represented communities in the Chicago area. The conference is also of interest to community activists and students.  

BID Conference Scholarship

BID Conference Scholarships for the full 2022 Breakin' It Down conference are available.

Apply here for a registration waiver before registering for conference.  If you have already applied for conference support, please do not register for the conference until you have received notification about the status of your award. The deadline to apply is October 27, 2022.  


The 2022 BID SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PERIOD IS NOW CLOSED.

Pricing

Online Registration will open October 1, 2022, and run through October 27, 2022.

$60. For students with school ID and school email, $30.

Registered attendees will have access to the complete Conference:

  • Complementary coffee and morning pastries
  • Complementary lunch (vegetarian/vegan or meat option)
  • One (1) plenary panel session
  • One (1) workshop from a selection of three. 
  • Up to three (3) Speed Networking with Funders sessions.
  • Denise Stennis Awards presentation


How To Register

WEB. Submit the online Registration Form. You will receive an email confirmation acknowledging your registration. If you do not receive it, BID has not processed your registration. Please contact us at hello@breakinitdownchicago.org.

About Registering

All BID Conference registrants must register for themselves with their own credentials. 

Conference Speakers and Presenters

The BID Planning Committee will register all speakers and Speed Networking With Funders presenters.  If it becomes necessary for a speaker or presenter to cancel a presentation, they should try to find an alternate presenter immediately. Contact the BID's Program Committee Chair immediately with any change to a scheduled presentation.


A “no-show” or cancelled presentation can cause serious inconvenience to the attendees and conference organizers. The BID Planning Committee thanks all speakers and presenters  in advance for their compliance with this request.

Recorded Presentations

All presentations may be recorded.  By continuing in the BID workshop or event, you consent to being recorded. Access to the conference materials will be available for 30 days after the conference for all registrants. 

Registration and Payment

All conference registrants must register individually online through the BID's designated page.  


All individual conference registrants must select a payment method. The methods available to individuals are as follows:


1. Debit/Credit card (processed through PayPal).

2. Check or money order made out to our partner organization, LATINOS IN DEVELOPMENT.


Checks and money orders must be received must be received via regular post by the Wednesday prior to the start of the conference. 


We strongly encourage registrants to settle all conference accounts prior to arrival at the Conference. In the unlikely event that you must pay on-site, we prefer check or money order. Credit cards will be accepted, but you must be sure that, if using an institutional card, the transaction will be allowed. If the card is rejected, we must have method payment via an alternative method for those with outstanding balances to be allowed to attend the BID Conference.

   

Cancellation and Credit Policy

 No refunds will be given for cancellations.  If you need to cancel your participation, your request must be submitted by email to hello@breakinitdownchicago.org..   Due to financial obligations incurred by the Breakin' It Down Planning Committee, a credit less 25% of the registration fee will be issued for requests received up to seven (7) days prior to the start of the conference and will expire 12 months from the date of the original, canceled event.  


Conference credit may be applied toward any Breakin' It Down event. If a conference credit is applied toward an event, the event must take place prior to the credit’s expiration date.   


Conference credit will not be issued if you do not attend the event and have not requested cancellation at least seven (7) days prior to the event start date.  The cancellation and credit policy will not be waived.   


Alternatively, you may choose to send a substitute attendee in your place.  Your request must be submitted  by completing the online BID Conference Registration Transfer  Request form.  The registration will be revised to reflect the new registrant's name. 

Registration Transfer Policy

All transfers must be requested by the online BID Conference Registration Transfer Request form no later than two (2) days before the event. No transfers will be given after that date.


The BID Conference Registration Transfer Request form must be completed by the person who paid for the registration and filled out in its entirety. 


Please Note: 

  • BID Conference Scholarship are non-transferable. 
  • Student Registration Transfers may only be completed into the same category - if the original registration was for a a student, the new registration must also be for a student.  The transferee must have  a school email address and present their school ID to pick up their name badge at conference.. 


Upon completion of transfer, a confirmation email will be sent to the person requesting the transfer,  with a copy going to the person being transferred to. The confirmation is for your records only and is  not necessary for the transferee "New Attendee"  to attend the conference. 


The New Attendee will be required to present  a picture ID at the conference registration table. 

2022 BID CONFERENCE Registration Transfer Request

The BID Conference Registration Transfer Request form must be completed by the person who paid for the registration and filled out in its entirety.
